Ran into a roadblock. tried to fix the hair and general upper area to be cleaner and closer to what she's supposed to look like and ended up wondering if its better or worse now
I do hair by 3 parts 1 - block in for general placement, shape, and which area of the hair will go on top of which other section. In this pick, the frontal bangs and sides that reach to the cheeks are at the top, and the hair in between these two groups are in the back. 2 - break down the block into thick rectangular strands. This part is really just doing part 1 but now within the group - visualize that every rectangular strand is either above or below the strand next to it, which will start creating a layered effect. 3 - refine by darkening the side lines that make up each rectangular strand: the darker the strand, the greater the height difference. After that, add highlights.
I'll make a post for today/tomorrow (I'm working off of pst) to do a visual on how it works - gotta refine the hair more anyway.
The hair flows better now imo, and the bangs are cuter too. Also good job on that drawing, bro!
